Searching for the top fulfillment centres in Ireland can be a time-consuming project. Finding the best Irish fulfillment company to handle your eCommerce orders is an important endeavor – one that can make or break your online business.
When it comes to researching fulfillment centres to partner with, you’ll need to consider their locations, service offerings, volume capacities, experience levels, SLAs, quality, customer reviews, and more.
Fortunately, we’ve done the research and put together a list of the top fulfillment centres in Ireland to help you find the best fit for your Irish order fulfillment needs.
1. Autofulfil (Ireland’s Top Fulfillment Services)
At the top of the list is Autofulfil, a 100,000 square-foot fulfillment centre near Galway founded in 2013. Autofulfil has helped hundreds of eCommerce brands grow and scale in Ireland and Europe, including Schoolbooks.ie – one of Ireland’s largest eCommerce stores.
In terms of capabilities, Autofulfil offers a wide range of efficient order fulfillment services, covering everything from stock management, picking, packing, and shipping to kitting, assembly, and personalisation for your eCommerce business. The fulfillment centre ships over 3 million items annually with top courier companies, with 99.9% accurate orders and 99.9% orders shipped out the same day if received by 3pm, for fast delivery (next day) throughout Ireland. Their fulfillment solutions are also completely carbon-neutral, and businesses benefit from a fully carbon-neutral fulfillment centre and packaging that’s fully recyclable and biodegradable.
That’s all topped off with a personal approach from a dedicated European customer service team who are always quick to respond. Autofulfil partners with brands to develop flexible, bespoke solutions that are unique to each client’s unique business requirements to improve customer satisfaction. Their warehouse management system integrates with all the top eCommerce platforms for seamless order fulfillment, and provides cost-effective rates that include onboarding, customer service, and order and inventory data portal access.
Most importantly, Autofulfil is well-loved by their clients, who rated them 9.1 out of 10 for how likely they would be to recommend Autofulfil’s services to another company. As one of the leading eCommerce fulfillment companies, Autofulfil also has a 4.8 out of 5 star customer experience rating on Google Reviews and a 4.3 out of 5 star rating on Trustpilot. The most commonly praised aspect of Autofulfil’s service is its exceptional customer service.
According to one happy Autofulfil client, “Our business has been able to grow rapidly due to the help of Autofulfil, as they enable us to have fast and reliable delivery of our products. They have also helped with our customer satisfaction and retention.
Autofulfil is a great partner to work with because they have great communication from their customer service team who are exceptional. They help us on a daily basis and it’s always a pleasure dealing with them!”
2. ShipBob / Luzern Fulfillment Centre?
October 2023 Update: It appears that ShipBob has closed down their Ireland fulfillment operations.
ShipBob is an American-based fulfillment provider that was launched in 2014. With headquarters in Chicago, they’re not actually based in Ireland, though they have been expanding into the European fulfillment market in recent years through a network of local European fulfillment centre partners. Though they boast a location in Dublin, a Google search for their Dublin location address brings up Luzern eCommerce, a local eCommerce company with the same headquarters address. Based on this, it’s unlikely that ShipBob actually has their own fulfillment centre in Ireland and are outsourcing their Irish distribution and fulfillment process.
Capability-wise, ShipBob offers standard order fulfillment and warehousing services like stock management and pick and pack with custom packaging offers and B2B capability such as pallet storage. Like Autofulfil, they can also integrate with a number of eCommerce platforms. However, they don’t yet seem to offer Amazon FBM services in Ireland or Europe (as of Oct 2022) to reduce costs for clients using the platform.
According to Capterra, ShipBob scored 6.7 out of 10 for likelihood to recommend amongst customers – but is faring better on Trustpilot with a score of 4.3 out of 5. At the time of writing, the main negative listed by Capterra is: “Generally, connecting stores is a drag, and should not be so complex”, while the positives are summed up as: “Easy setup, many integrations, works with every popular platform out there”.
Though a large global name in eCommerce fulfillment, the reliance on outsourcing to partner fulfillment centres means that the reviews of ShipBob online may not be indicative of the same level of service that their local 3PL partners will provide on their behalf.
3. Amazon Fulfillment Centre In Dublin, Ireland
Another global logistics brand that’s moving onto Irish shores is Amazon. They recently opened an Ireland fulfillment centre in Dublin, adding to a list of over 175 order fulfillment centres in total worldwide. The inventory management and distribution facilities will be used for processing their own marketplace’s eCommerce orders in Ireland, as well as their Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) services, meaning that they focus on standard fulfillment for Amazon marketplace sales only – picking, packing, and shipping – along with returns management.
For the uninitiated, FBA means selling your products through an Amazon store and sending them the inventory to pick, pack, and ship to the customer’s door (fully tracked) on your behalf. For that to take place, stock has to meet specific receiving requirements when it comes to labelling, packaging, and more. However, you can also opt for Fulfillment by Merchant (FBM), where you benefit from Amazon’s sales platform, while fulfilling orders yourself. Amazon FBA logistics and fulfillment services currently aren’t available for integration with major eCommerce platforms like Shopify.
While there are no reviews for their fulfillment services specifically, Amazon has a rating of 1.7 out of 5 on Trustpilot. It’s also worth noting that Amazon Fulfillment by Merchant (FBM) fulfillment services and Amazon FBA prep services, provided by other 3PL companies like Autofulfil, can make things easier if you want to reduce your internal workload and cut costs when selling through Amazon.
4. F4E (Fulfillment for Europe)
Short for Fulfillment for Europe, F4E is a network of independent inventory storage and fulfillment houses based across the European continent. That includes their Waterford fulfillment centre in Ireland, along with sites providing fulfillment solutions in Germany, France, the UK, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Austria, and Denmark.
While the fulfillment centres are separate, they claim to work as a unified company with around 2,000 staff and 650,000 square feet of space in total to meet supply chain requirements. Each country or region has its own account manager with local knowledge and experience.
Their logistics services cover most of the standard fulfillment requirements, such as inventory management, B2C, B2B, integration, returns handling, real-time tracking information through a web portal, and national and international shipping with courier companies worldwide. There are also some additional extras for eCommerce companies in the fashion industry, like garment hanging. However, it’s unclear whether these are available at all of their various independent fulfillment centres.
As with ShipBob, F4E being a network of affiliated fulfillment centres in various countries means that delivering a consistent client experience and service level from country to country in Ireland and Europe would be a challenge. We can’t find any Google Reviews or Trustpilot reviews from customers for this brand.
5. Parcel Planet Fulfillment Centre In Dublin, Ireland
Registered in Dublin as recently as 2020, Parcel Planet is a new fulfillment partner for companies in Ireland and the UK. Their Ireland fulfillment centre provides three main service areas:
- Storage & warehousing
- Pick, pack & kitting
- Dispatch & delivery
Their offering includes the usual local Irish services like integrations, next-day delivery, and real-time access to information about inventory levels, orders, and deliveries. They have a five-star rating from satisfied customers on Google, albeit from only 10 reviews.
6. One Stop Fulfillment – Portlaoise, Ireland
Last on our list of fulfillment companies in Ireland is One Stop Fulfillment, which is located in the small town of Portlaoise (or Port Laoise). Services and expertise on their site are listed as follows:
- Warehousing
- Order Processing
- Pick and Pack
- Parcel/Delivery labels
- Returns Management
- Ship Worldwide
Efficient same-day pick, pack, and ship is available, with an aim to deliver it for orders received by 5pm for your online store. However, there are no statistics available in terms of the success rate.
While One Stop Fulfillment isn’t listed on major review sites like Trustpilot, there are a few positive reviews on Facebook. They are, however, part of the Camsaw Distributors group, which itself is rated as 4.1 out of 5 on Google.
